Effective antifouling without the environmental toxic legacy of biosides or metal compounds.
Inaudible to humans and marine wildlife with 0 interference to Sonar and electronic equipment.
Low Power Consumption – at around 3.6 Watts per transducer, Sonihull is ideal for grounded or battery powered installations.
Easy installation – No dry-docking, no additional hull penetrations, no costly anode replacement.
Reduced Fuel Consumption – Clean propellers, shafts and hull can reduce your fuel bills by up to 30%.
Reduced Maintenance – Clean propellers and shafts reduce vibration and wear on the propulsion system.
Increased maintenance intervals mean more sailing, less downtime and reduced operational costs.
Microbiological control – Sonihull suppresses the growth of bacteria and algae in fuel tanks. Keeps drinking water in excellent drinking condition for longer.
RS232/RS422 communication interface fully programmable and integrable. Modbus communication interface for wired or wireless remote control with critical fault monitoring.
BACKGROUND
Biofouling on your hull and propellers can increase your fuel consumption by up to 30% and in seawater pipelines, fouling eventually blocks cooling systems causing premature equipment failure.
Environmental legislation regulating the use of poisonous metal biosides and antifouling systems is becoming more drastic. The marine industry is implementing more effective ways to control unwanted marine fouling on its vessels and equipment.
For decades, ultrasound has been used in the food, brewing and hydroponic agriculture industries to prevent algae growth, keep storage tanks, handling equipment clean and free of fouling.
Since 2006, some 27,500 Sonihull systems have been installed worldwide, making the company the world’s most specialized leader in ultrasonic fouling protection.
For decades, ultrasound has been used in the food, brewing and hydroponic agriculture industries to prevent algae growth, keep storage tanks and handling equipment clean and free of blockages.
By focusing this same technology to marine applications, Sonihull has become an effective fouling prevention solution.
From yachts to fish farmers, sailboats to tankers, we are working with industry leaders to create cost-effective antifouling solutions that reduce vessel drag and minimize fuel consumption, extend maintenance intervals and eliminate the legacy of environmental poisoning.
How does it work?
Sonihull systems produce multiple bursts of ultrasonic energy in a given range of frequency pulses.
The ultrasound produces an alternating positive and negative pressure pattern on the surface of the material. Microscopic bubbles are created during the negative cycle and are imploded during the positive cycle.
This microscopic agitation has a cleansing effect that destroys the surface algae.
By disturbing this first link in the food chain, it keeps the surfaces clean making it an unattractive habitat for marine organisms that feed on algae. The microscopic movement of the water in turn prevents mollusk larvae and parasitic species from adhering to surfaces.
