MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
ZERO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
No legacy of environmental poisoning such as biocides or metal coatings. Zero interference with sonar systems or information retrieval equipment (black boxes).
LOW MAINTENANCE
No high-cost anode replacement, specialized adaptations, dry-docking or current isolation.
MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTROL
Suppresses algae growth in fuel storage tanks and keeps potable water on board fresh for a longer period of time.
8 INDEPENDENT TRANSDUCERS
Sonihull 8 effectively opens up the market for large installations, where multiple surfaces and equipment can now be protected by a single unit.
INTELLIGENT, MULTI-MATERIAL EQUIPMENT COMMISSIONING
Operators can select different resonance algorithms for each ultrasonic transducer to suit different materials or structures to be protected.
NETWORKS OF UP TO 32 UNITS
A potential network of up to 256 independently controlled and centrally monitored transducers, ideal for large installations or multiple protection areas.
CONNECTION UP TO 80 METERS AWAY
The transducers are impedance matched, allowing connection cables to be extended up to 80 meters without loss of performance. This makes the Sonihull 8 System suitable for prefabricated or modular constructions.
FULLY PROGRAMMABLE AND INTEGRABLE
Full RS232/RS422 communication interface allowing wired or wireless remote control with critical fault monitoring throughout the system.
Control Unit
Dual processor programming interface through LCD display. 8 transducers
8 transducers
How does it work?
Sonihull systems produce multiple bursts of ultrasonic energy in a given range of frequency pulses.
The ultrasound produces an alternating positive and negative pressure pattern on the surface of the material. Microscopic bubbles are created during the negative cycle and are imploded during the positive cycle.
This microscopic agitation has a cleansing effect that destroys the surface algae.
By disturbing this first link in the food chain, it keeps the surfaces clean making it an unattractive habitat for marine organisms that feed on algae. The microscopic movement of the water in turn prevents mollusk larvae and parasitic species from adhering to surfaces.
